The Rose
Dedicated to our friend..
Kristi Bringhurst Clark
who lived a beautiful life & a great love story...

Some say love it is a river
that drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razer
that leaves your soul to blead

Some say love it is a hunger
an endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
and you it's only seed

It's the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
who cannot seem to give
and the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed
that with the sun's love
in the spring
becomes the rose

Cranberry Wedding: The Bride...

When it comes to weddings.. I love the creative and non-traditional. This ring is so sweet and it won't set you off on a wrong foot financially. It's from Neta-Jewelry
I would take the green elements out of this and add white stock, and add pink spray roses in place of the dusty pink flower. ..but I love the ribbon.. Then with the little addition of spray roses in the bouquet, you could set little pots of them around in white whicker in the summer or something gold or sparkly in the winter.

I'm in love with this vintage 1930's dress from Mill Crest Vintage but, this isn't a great photo. You have to pop over to the site and see this amazing fabric close up.. some of the prettiest fabric I've ever seen.

Poinsettia Christmas Wedding: Wear a Coat!

I always see winter brides turning blue. It's cold out there people. I loved this wedding coat. It's beautiful and practical. There are also faux fur lined capes etc... It's hard to smile pretty for the pictures if you're miserable. Don't freeze out there!

Processional Music for a Winter Wedding...

When planning a wedding, or any party for that matter, don't forget the music! Music is as important as anything you do visually. If you are in Utah, music is easy. We are a state rich in musical talent.
At my wedding, I had a very talented harpist play for the evening and it fit the Victorian ambiance of The Lion House where my reception was held. Thanks Maria! It was so beautiful!
My brother Stephen, loves opera. He hired some amazing BYU Opera students to come and sing his favorite romantic pieces for his bride. The Flower Duet is always my favorite. It was beautiful. So, check local colleges and universities for talented musicians. You can also check with local music instructors.

For a winter wedding, when the sun goes down early, I think the perfect music for a wedding processional is Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.. So ROMANTIC... Take a listen... HERE.
