Recycled Bottles...


I admit to being a sucker for packaging and cute marketing. And, I have been a fan of the Adam's Peanut Butter Jar since I was about 10 and I had a friend whose mother would make homemade bread and then cut us a thick slice out of the oven with peanut butter, jam and a big cold glass of milk. I don't know if any culinary experience can really beat that. .. including these cookies.. But, they are pretty good.
It's fun to recycle the pretty jar or plastic cottage cheese container or whatever with a fun surprise to deliver to a friend. Call me a red-neck :)
Peanut Butter Cookies
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup fresh ground whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/4 cups dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 cup butter salted
3 large eggs
1 tsp good Mexican Vanilla
1 cup Adam's Crunchy peanut butter

Bake at 375 for 8-9 minutes

Recipe for Virgin Mint Julep from Telestial Kitchen

Virgin Mint Julep

4-5 mint sprigs
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups cold water
3/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup pineapple juice
1 1/2 qt ginger ale
Thinly-sliced lemon slices (for garnish)

Rinse the mint and discard the stems. Place sugar, water lemon juice, pineapple juice in a medium-sized bowl, mix, and stir in the mint leaves. Allow to stand for 30 minutes.

Fill a large pitcher with ice cubes. Strain the liquid over the ice. Add the ginger ale and lemon slices and serve.
